EICMA 2019 was an action-packed affair with eagerly awaited bikes like the KTM 390 Adventure and Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade breaking cover for the first time. One bike we hadn’t really anticipated but were absolutely blown away by was the gorgeous Husqvarna Norden 901 adventure bike concept. Now, an image of a production version of the Norden has surfaced in an investor presentation, indicating that an official unveil is near. This is the same presentation that also featured pictures of Husqvarna’s first electric bike that will be made right here in India.

It’s always disappointing to see a production vehicle that’s far removed from its concept version. Fortunately, there’s no disappointment this time around because this is one of those rare occasions where the production bike looks very very close to the one we saw on the show floor in Milan. Sure, it’s had to gain things like mirrors and a rear number plate hanger for legal reasons, but the core design is virtually identical.
The clean Swedish lines produce an angular and elegant look that makes the Norden seem like a gentle giant. This beast is powered by the 889cc parallel-twin from the KTM 890 Duke, which, in turn, is derived from the 790 Duke’s 799cc mill. In the 890, it produces 121PS but we suspect it’ll be tuned quite differently on the Norden, to offer friendlier power delivery. We look forward to seeing the production bike in its true colours soon.
