With an intention to spread awareness regarding road safety, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), inaugurated its first traffic park in East India at Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. For this purpose, the Japanese two-wheeler giant has associated with respective Regional Transport Authorities of Bhubaneswar-II and Cuttack for this initiative.
Speaking about the traffic park in Bhubaneswar, Takanori Maruyama, Director HMSI, said, “At Honda, we truly believe that as we grow, our social responsibility too gets bigger. The Bhubaneswar traffic park is a significant step towards meeting our commitment of making Safe Riding an everyday habit of all 2Wheeler riders.”
At both the traffic parks, Honda would promote road safety in a specially designed and safe environment. At the Honda traffic park, children from 5 to 8 years of age will be taught about the basics of safety in a fun filled exercise so that they can learn the importance of road safety in a tender age itself. For children between the age group of 9 to 12 years will be given practical riding experience of piloting the Honda CRF 50, which has been specifically imported for this initiative. Participants above the age of 18 will be given theoretical sessions on road safety and an opportunity to ride on the virtual simulators so that they can experience over 100 possible dangerous situations on road and taught how to tackle them. These riding trainers are also available at all Honda dealerships in our country. There is also a special training programme for female riders thereby which they can learn to ride a two-wheeler within a day.
