Honda Cars has hiked the prices of its Brio hatch and compact sedan Amaze by up to Rs 800. This marginal increase in the price is due to the restructuring of the tax policy by the government in the budget this year.
This is the company’s second hike in a year. Honda had earlier increased the prices across its entire model range by Rs 60,000 in January 2015, after the government suspended the excise duty benefits. Currently, the company has not hiked the prices of any other models except the Brio and Amaze.
The prices for the Honda Brio have been hiked by Rs 600 while that for the petrol and diesel variant of the Amaze have been increased by Rs 800 w.e.f. the first week of April 2015.

After the hike, the Brio is priced between Rs 4.21 lakh and Rs 6.79 lakh, while the Amaze is priced at Rs 5.18 lakh and Rs 8.21 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Honda has posted its best-ever sales in the country by selling 1.89 lakh units during the FY-15, registering a growth of 41 per cent over the last financial year.
The carmaker currently sells five models in the country, including the fourth generation mid-size sedan City and the multi-purpose vehicle Mobilio.
