When the Ferrari 458 was first launched, it caused quite a stir and was dubbed as one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever built. It was also one of Ferrari’s bestselling models and the last one to come with a naturally aspirated V8 engine. Now, the launch of the 458’s replacement, the 488 GTB is almost upon us and the 488 marks the comeback of forced induction to Ferrari’s engines after almost thirty years.
The 488 GTB is powered by a newly developed 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine dishing out a whopping 670PS of max power at 8,000rpm and 760Nm of peak torque at 3,000rpm. The engine is mated to 7-speed dual clutch transmission and the car is said to accelerate from a standstill to 100kmph in three seconds dead. It also claims a top speed of 330kmph.

Aesthetically it looks more like an upgraded version of the 458 but even then the visual clues are rather prominent. The headlamps no look sleeker, the air dams and splitter in the front have increased in size whereas the bumper itself takes a more minimalistic approach. Even the side air intakes have significantly grown in size to provide better air flow for the engine and the turbos.
The price of the car is expected to be around Rs 3.0-3.5 croreex-showroom Delhi and when launched will rival the Porsche 911 turbo and the Lamborghini Huracan
