The Tata Tiago EV has been launched in India as the entry-level EV in the carmaker’s electric portfolio. It comfortably undercuts the Tigor EV – the base-spec electric sedan costs Rs 70,000 more than a fully-loaded Tiago EV with the 7.2kWh charger. The top-spec hatchback is a whopping Rs 3.2 lakh more affordable than the Nexon EV Prime.

Tata Tiago EV Specs And Features

On the outside, the Tata Tiago EV looks familiar but distinguishes itself with a closed-off front grille and air dam with a tri-arrow pattern. It gets projector headlights with DRLs, alongside four-split spoke alloy wheels with blue elements.

The Tiago EV is offered in Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, Tropical Mist (light blue), Pristine White and Midnight Plum (violet) paint shades.

Tata’s entry-level EV is powered by Ziptron battery packs in two sizes, 19.2kWh and 24kWh, with claimed ranges of 250km and 315km (MIDC estimated) respectively. The Tiago EV offers DC fast charging capabilities and can be juiced up in 57 minutes (10-80 per cent). It can be charged using a 7.2kW AC wall charger in 3 hours, 36 minutes.

The standard (19.2kWh) Tiago EV has a 61PS and 110Nm e-motor, while the longer-range variant offers a 75PS and 114Nm output.

Similar to the Tiago, it gets a digital driver’s display and seven-inch touchscreen with eight-speaker Harman sound system, but the similarities stop there. The Tiago EV is much better equipped with leatherette seats, auto headlights and wipers, automatic climate control, electric ORVMS, push button start-stop and cruise control.
