However, there is a small sacrifice which hardcore enthusiasts might need to make while building their Cayenne Platinum Edition

Do you fancy a Porsche Cayenne with the bling that most Indians love? Then say no more, as Porsche has launched the Cayenne Platinum Edition, in both SUV-coupe and SUV body styles, at Rs 1.47 crore. Sadly though, this special edition - the second one to get after the Panamera - can’t be had with that naughty V8 as it is limited to the V6 and V6 hybrid powertrains only.

Take a look at the prices:

Mind you, when we said bling, we didn’t mean that Porsche has gone all-out by sputtering chrome. Rather, these subtle satin-finish Platinum highlights on the air dams, rear badge, and 21-inch RS Spyder wheels stand out nicely when teamed with a darker shade. The exhaust tips and window trims are finished in black for added stealth.

Inside, the aluminum inserts on the dashboard and door sills (with Platinum Edition badging) add some much required bling to the all-black dashboard. The seatbelts are finished in a colour called Crayon (light grey). And to make the most of the premium, Porsche will be offering the extended equipment as standard in the Platinum Edition.

This includes a panoramic sunroof, Bose surround sound system, Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), eight-way leather sports seats, ambient lighting, the Porsche Crest on the front and rear headrests, and the trademark analogue clock.

Again, this special edition has one downside, as you can’t team it with the fantastic V8. Rather, your choices are limited to the 340PS 3-litre V6 that’s good for a 0-100kmph in 5.9 seconds and a 452PS hybrid option (the same V6 paired with an electric motor) that does the same in 5 seconds dead.
