Porsche has been brewing a new version of its flagship SUV and the 2023 Cayenne is set to debut at Auto Shanghai on April 18, and it’ll feature interior elements from the Taycan and 911, alongside a new driver interface with driving controls placed on or close to the steering wheel.

2023 Cayenne gets a feature-loaded interior

The interior of the 2023 Cayenne is all-new, featuring a distinctive design language and a striking array of three large screens on the dashboard. The driver’s display is a curved 12.6-inch unit that provides not just the instrument readouts, but navigation and night vision display as well! You can even choose “classic mode” that’ll give you the classic five-dial readout that Porsches had before digital drivers displays came about.

The driver gets another perk – a 911-derived sports steering wheel that has controls for not just audio and cruise control, but also for switching between driving modes and starting the engine. The gear selector has been moved from the centre console to the dashboard, where the toggle switch sits next to the 12.3-inch touchscreen.

Apart from a central touchscreen, there’s also a separate, optional 10.9-inch display for the front passengers. If you’re scratching your head over its utility, for example, it can be used by the passenger to set the navigation or pick a different media device.

Other features include a cooled storage compartment for smartphones which also has wireless charging at up to 15W, front and rear USB-C ports, Porsche Communication Management connected car tech (pairs your phone via a QR code) and an optional heads-up display (HUD).

Porsche hasn’t disclosed the 2023 Cayenne’s powertrain options yet, but it’s expected to get electrified drivetrain options and even an all-electric version.

We’ll get a proper look at the 2023 Porsche Cayenne at its debut in April. The next-generation of the relatively popular SUV is likely to make its way to India, possibly sometime in early 2024. Its rivals are the Range Rover Sport, Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, Audi Q8 and the Jaguar F-Pace.
