The magnificent Leh-Ladakh, known for its scenic routes and ever-changing terrains, is a dream for travellers and enthusiasts. And now, you can explore this paradise on Earth in your electric vehicle without fretting over range, courtesy of EV charging stations in regular intervals installed by Lithium Urban Technologies, Power Bank EV Charging Solutions, and Fourth Partner Energy.

The charging stations are spaced every 100km on the important routes around Manali and Leh. Sure, these aren’t fast chargers, but you at least needn’t worry about range and getting stranded in the middle of nowhere.

The entire mission of setting up the chargers was carried out aboard two ZS EVs, which have a claimed range of 419km. Back in 2020, Tata took the Nexon EV to Leh for marketing activities and relied on a home plug to charge the vehicle.

India is also home to the world’s highest charging station (for two-wheelers), situated at 12,467 feet in Kaza, Himachal Pradesh. The team even took two TVS iQubes from Manali to Kaza to juice up the electric scooters there.

With charging infrastructure improving around the country, it sure seems like range anxiety won’t be a bother for too long.
