After its entry into the Indian market last year, VinFast is now gearing up to launch its third product in India, called the VF MPV 7 tomorrow. With 7 seats, an all-electric powertrain and a massive claimed range figure, it has its eyes set on more established players like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and the BYD eMAX 7. Here is all we know about it so far:
In terms of design, the VF MPV 7 remains purposeful and practical. Up front, the VF MPV 7 gets a connected LED light bar, which flanks the VinFast logo in the centre. The headlamps are placed lower down, giving it a streamlined, aerodynamic, and distinctive look compared to its rivals.

In profile, it gets a long wheelbase and a tall stance, which should result in good space in the cabin. It also gets 19-inch alloy wheels, and the charging port for the battery is placed on the front right fender.

Towards the rear, there is a connected LED lightbar, much like the front end with a chunkily clad bumper and a roof spoiler.

The VF MPV 7 gets six colour options: Infinity Blanc (White), Jet Black, Zenith Grey, Solar Ruby (Red), Moonlit Ocean (Blue), and Introspective Brown.
Inside the VinFast VF MPV 7 lies a minimalistic-looking cabin, much like the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. It features a small steering wheel and a floating touchscreen infotainment system, but there is no instrument cluster. All the drive-related information will be relayed through the touchscreen infotainment system, which is likely to measure 10.1 inches.

Unlike the VF6 and VF7, the drive selector is located on the steering column, and not underneath the touchscreen. Apart from the window switches and the controls on the steering wheel, the VF MPV 7 does not have any physical buttons.
It also gets a floating centre console with loads of storage space underneath it. Like other MPVs, the VF MPV 7 also comes with a 7-seater layout.
The Vietnam-spec VF MPV 7 is offered with features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4-speaker sound system, cruise control, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and electrically-adjustable ORVMs. However, we can expect a few new features in the Indian version.

Safety features on the VF MPV 7 are likely to include 6 airbags, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist, traction control and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
The VF MPV 7 will be available with a single powertrain option consisting of a 60.13 kWh battery pack and a single electric motor. Here are the expected specifications:

*Expected figures

When launched tomorrow, expect the VF MPV 7 to be priced from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

It will rival the likes of the Kia Carens Clavis EV and the BYD eMAX 7 while also being an alternative to MPVs like the Toyota Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross, Kia Carens and Carens Clavis and even electric SUVs like the Mahindra XEV 9S.
VinFast’s third product in India is certainly targeting a niche market of electric 7-seaters. But its specifications look tempting, and with a focus on the cabin space it is all set to shake up the market. However, stay tuned as we will only know for sure when the price is revealed tomorrow.
