VinFast has launched the new VF MPV 7 in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The car is offered in a single variant and is VinFast’s third product in the Indian market. The car features a sophisticated exterior design with a minimalistic interior layout, which focuses strongly on space and practicality to target MPV buyers and large families.
The VinFast VF MPV 7 gets only one battery pack option, which is a 60.13kWh unit. The car comes loaded with a decent list of features that you would generally require. If you were eagerly waiting for the new VF MPV 7, here's a breakdown of what it brings to the table so that you know exactly what you will be paying for:
The VinFast VF MPV 7 is offered in a single fully loaded variant, which is priced at Rs. 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers a 7-seater configuration, and you can choose from 6 different colour options.

The rear sports a flat tailgate, a chunky bumper, and an integrated rear spoiler to complete the overall look.

On the inside, the VinFast VF MPV 7 features an optional dual-tone cabin theme and an all-black dashboard. The dashboard has a minimalistic layout with the touchscreen infotainment taking the centre stage, which gives it a neat look. This eliminates the use of physical buttons as it adopts the role of an instrument cluster as well and controls most of the in-car functions.

The biggest reason to get the VF MPV 7 is its three-row layout that offers a spacious and comfortable experience for occupants and a lot of flexibility as well. All three rows offer a good amount of space and practicality. There are multiple storage spaces, the seats are comfortable, and the large windows ensure that the feeling of claustrophobia is eliminated.
Although the addition of some features like ambient lighting, a sunroof, a rear centre armrest, and rear sunshades would have made the overall experience even better.

In terms of features, the VF MPV 7 comes equipped with all the basic tech that you would expect at this price. The infotainment system incorporates all functionalities of the car, including AC controls and vehicle details that are usually shown in the driver’s display.

While the list covers most essential features, it still feels barebones for its price point, as some features like a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, a better sound system and a wireless charger are missing from the equipment list. These are some important features that are offered by its rivals and are commonplace even in lower segments.
4 airbags
ABS with EBD
Electronic stability control (ESC)
Traction control
Hill hold assist
Rear parking camera and sensors
Electronic parking brake with auto hold
Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
All-wheel disc brakes
ISOFIX child seat mounts
VinFast has ensured a strong baseline for safety by offering most of the necessary safety features. But what we feel is it should also have been equipped with features like a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors and ADAS. And not to forget that the VF MPV 7 comes equipped with only 4 airbags, whereas most of the cars now, even hatchbacks half its price, are equipped with 6 airbags. Considering the fact that it is a three-row 7-seater MPV, 6 airbags should have been standard.
Powering the VinFast VF MPV 7 is a large 60.13 kWh battery pack, which also supports fast charging with a claimed driving range of 517 km. This is paired to an electric motor mounted on the front axle. As claimed by VinFast, this battery pack can be charged from 10% to 70% in just 30 minutes using a DC fast charger, and it gets 80kW fast charging capabilities.

Here are the detailed battery specifications of the new VF MPV 7:
|

60.13 kWh |
|
Claimed Range (MIDC Part 1 + Part 2) |
517 Km |
|
Power (PS) |
204 PS |
|

280 Nm |
VinFast is also offering free public charging for its products across its VGreen charging network until March 31, 2029
The VinFast VF MPV 7 takes on a segment which is not very competitive at the moment, rivalling three-row EVs like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and the BYD eMAX 7. If you bring the other ICE-powered MPVs in the picture as well, it could be a decent alternative to cars like the Kia Carens Clavis, Toyota Innova Hycross and Maruti Invicto.

VinFast has put a lot of thought into the VF MPV 7 electric MPV for it to be spacious and practical. The car has striking yet elegant and simplistic looks and a neat cabin layout. Where the VF MPV 7 really struggles is in its features domain, where we can see a lot of misses that would’ve made it better. Considering the price bracket, its rivals, and the market trends, customers are most likely to pick a car that ticks all boxes, which includes space, practicality, features, safety, and looks. Though this might still be a very great option for buyers who require a three-row electric SUV for family trips and can compromise a little on features.s.
