The fourth-gen Kia Carnival gets mildly refreshed interiors along with new features to appeal to a wider audience

  • New Carnival gets a minimalist dashboard, updated AC control panel.
  • Dashboard gets two large screens - infotainment and driver display.
  • Improved ADAS tech with lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, and more.
  • Kia claims a quieter rider and along with improved suspension as well.

After unveiling the exteriors of the 2024 Carnival, Kia has now revealed the interior of the MPV for the first time. It’s slated for an official introduction later this year and could make its way to our shores. And if Kia decides to bring the new Carnival here, we expect it to be this facelifted version to make its way here.

Inside, the new Carnival’s dashboard layout remains familiar to the outgoing model with its dual integrated screens, giving it a modern outlook. That said, there are slight alterations as the centre console is now more minimalist and incorporates the same touch panel for climate controls and infotainment as seen in recent Kia cars, such as the EV6

Like before, the Carnival will be available in multiple trims and seating configurations. You also get niceties such as an entertainment screen, sliding rear doors, USB Type-C fast chargers, a boss mode functionality, and even easier accessibility of voice command-based features activation.

To keep you entertained when aboard, the Carnival comes loaded with plenty of kit such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, multiple zones of climate control, powered front seats, dual sunroof, an enhanced digital key system, and a new 11-inch head-up display.

As for safety, you get eight airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and, most importantly, a whole suite of ADAS features.

The updated Carnival will be offered with a hybrid powertrain in the Korean market, though Kia hasn’t revealed the specifics of the hybrid as yet. Its ICE powertrain will likely comprise the existing 3.5-litre V6 petrol unit. Besides, if Kia decides to bring the 2024 Carnival to India, we suspect it will continue with the outgoing model’s 200PS 2.2-litre diesel engine, teamed with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive.

Kia has also made its in-cabin travels much better, thanks to mechanical enhancements that include improved shock absorbers for a smoother ride and additional sound-deadening materials for a quieter cabin.

Pre-orders for the car will start from November 8, 2023 in South Korea. Kia had said at the Auto Expo that it will be gauging customer response and will then decide if it will bring the new Carnival in India. If it comes, expect prices to start at around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go up against the Toyota Innova Hycross.
