The facelifted Kia Carnival borrows plenty of design touches from the updated Seltos and new EV9 electric SUV

Kia has dropped the first images of the 2024 Carnival facelift’s exterior images. It’s basically the facelifted version of the fourth-gen Carnival that was displayed at the Auto Expo 2023 in India. No word about if the Carnival will be brought to India or not, but at the motor show, Kia said it will gauge customer response and consider whether it will be launched here or not.

What’s new on the Kia Carnival?

The new Carnival now gets a completely revised front end, featuring a wider grille, flanked by vertically stacked LED headlamps, which boasts a L-shaped DRL insignia. You also get a tweaked front bumper to add to that macho SUV-like look. In profile, it is more or less identical to the outgoing model, save for the alloys that look similar to the EV9. Connected LED tail lamps that mimic the Seltos round off the overall design updates.

Expected interior updates on the Kia Carnival

While Kia has not revealed the interiors of the MPV, we can expect it to be updated with a new colour scheme and upholstery finish. Like before, one can expect the MPV to be offered in multiple seating layouts to suit the needs of various buyers.

Internationally, the Kia Carnival gets a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine. However, on our shores, one can expect the 200PS 2.2-litre diesel engine to be the sole powertrain. Drive will be sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Rivals

If launched here, one can expect the new Kia Carnival to be priced from around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Toyota Innova Hycross.
