Following multiple sightings of its test mules, the first teaser image of the Force Gurkha 5-door has been released. It will maintain the same design language as the 3-door model with a longer wheelbase than the current Gurkha. Expected to debut in the coming months, here's everything we know about the Gurkha 5-door so far.

The Force Gurkha 5-door shares its design with the 3-door model, with the fascia featuring square headlights to differentiate it from the existing Gurkha, which gets circular units. Based on previous spy shots, the profile boasts sleek dual-tone alloys to distinguish it further. The tailgate integrates a ladder allowing you easy access to the roof rack.

While Force has not provided any images of the SUV’s interior, from earlier spy shots we can discern that its cabin layout is largely identical to the 3-door model. However, there are certain differences, including an electronically operated four-wheel-drive selector and captain seats for third-row passengers. In terms of powertrain, the Force Gurkha 5-door is expected to feature the same 91 PS 2.6-litre diesel engine as the smaller three-door model, although with a slight power boost. It is likely to be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, along with manual locking front and rear differentials, enhancing its off-road capabilities.

Force is expected to launch the Gurkha 5-door in the coming months, with a higher starting price than the Gurkha, which starts at Rs 15.09 lakh (ex-showroom). While being a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, it will rival the likes of the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door.
