• Gurkha 5-door expected launch by the end of April

• Force Gurkha 5-door will pack in features like a larger infotainment screen and will get a digital driver’s display

The Force Gurkha 5-door has been spotted testing multiple times in its production-ready avatar and has been teased recently. Apart from the extended wheelbase and added doors, the three-row Gurkha is going to be feature-packed. And if you had your eyes on one, we have some good news as based on our dealer sources, prices are likely to be out by the end of this month. 

As per the teased images, exterior changes include redesigned alloy wheels. Up front, the Gurkha 5 door will get the same LED DRLs and projector headlights as the three-door model, along with the option of a roof rack and snorkel to aid in water-wading. It is expected to be feature-rich and will pack in a larger infotainment screen and digital driver’s display. Additionally, the added third row will get forward-facing captain seats.

The Force Gurkha 5-door will likely share the 2.6-litre diesel engine found in the smaller Force Gurkha three-door, though with a slight increase in performance (the 3-door model makes 91 PS and 250 Nm). It will be coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox, alongside manual locking front and rear differentials, enhancing its off-road prowess.

Expect the pricing to be upwards of the Gurkha 3-door version, which retails at Rs 15.09 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, the Gurkha 5-door will be a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and will directly compete with the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door.
