The Citroen C3 Aircross has been launched in India from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s available to buy in three broad trims: You, Plus and Max. You might have seen how it looks in its base and top-spec guise in our earlier stories. So in this report, we have sourced the model’s mid-spec Plus trim, which we’ll be explaining in our image gallery.

At the front, the C3 Aircross’ mid-spec Plus model looks similar to the top-spec variant, courtesy the gloss black grille and split headlights with LED DRLs. The skid plates also are finished in a contrasting silver hue, unlike the base model, which gets them in black. That said, the fog lamps are still limited to the top-end model.

In profile, you will have to rely on steel wheels with plastic covers, as the alloys are limited to the flagship Max trim. That said, this trim packs door cladding and roof rails that make it look a bit more rugged. You can also opt this mid-spec trim with dual-tone hues by paying an additional Rs 20,000.

At the rear, once again things are similar to the top-end model, courtesy the gloss black trim connecting the tail lamps. It also features the skid plate finished in silver.

The resemblance to the top-end variant continues on the inside as the C3 Aircross features the same dual-tone dashboard with a contrasting gold insert. In the base model, you have to rely on an all-black dashboard, which can be seen in this report. Also, this mid-spec trim of the C3 Aircross packs the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well.

Another important bit to note is that this is the entry-level trim in the C3 Aircross if you want it with a 7-seater option. The base model is offered only as a 5-seater. One advantage of the 7-seater option is that the two individual seats in the last row can be removed to free up more space for cargo.

In terms of features, you get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering-mounted audio controls, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a height adjustable driver’s seat, power windows, remote locking and second-row AC vents (for 7-seater only). As for safety, it gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, hill start assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system as standard.

It’s just that bits such as a rear washer and wiper, rear view camera, leather wrapped steering wheel, and centre armrest are limited to the top-end Max trim.

Powering the Citroen C3 Aircross is a sole 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, teamed with a 6-speed manual. No plans for an automatic transmission are on the shelves yet, but it’s expected to be available later, alongside an all-electric version.

This trim of the C3 Aircross is priced at Rs 11.34 lakh and Rs 11.69 lakh for the 5- and 7-seater variants respectively (both prices ex-showroom). It locks horns with models such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, as well as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carens.
