BREAKING: Bajaj Auto Officially Takes Full Control Of KTM: Pierer Group Exits

Quick Read:

  • Bajaj takes full control of KTM’s parent company, Pierer Group

  • It will give Bajaj complete control of KTM hereon

  • Pierer Mobility AG will now be called Bajaj Mobility AG

Bajaj Auto has officially completed the acquisition of a sole controlling stake in Pierer Bajaj AG (PBAG), marking a major milestone in its 17-year partnership with KTM. With this, the Pierer Group has officially stepped out, and Bajaj now has full management control of KTM and its parent company.

Deal Completion Confirmed

Bajaj Auto intimated to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) that its wholly owned subsidiary, Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV (BAIH), has completed the purchase of all 50,100 shares of PBAG from Pierer Industrie AG (PIAG).

This means PBAG is now a fully owned subsidiary of BAIH, which, in turn, is a subsidiary of Bajaj Auto Limited. Through this transaction, Bajaj now owns approximately 74.9% of Pierer Mobility AG (PMAG), which is the parent company of KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas.

KTM Is Now Officially Under Bajaj’s Wing

With the deal finally complete, both KTM AG and PMAG are now step-down subsidiaries of Bajaj Auto. This officially gives Bajaj complete control of KTM's global operations, including which bikes to make and launch, what strategy to follow, and how to manage.

The takeover has been in the works since earlier this year, and Bajaj received the final green light from Austrian authorities in October 2025, allowing it to proceed without making a mandatory takeover bid.

Now that the transition has been completed, Bajaj has begun restructuring KTM's management and operations to reflect the new leadership. Some of the major changes are:

  • Pierer Bajaj AG (PBAG) has been renamed to Bajaj Auto International Holdings AG.

  • Pierer Mobility AG (PMAG), will now be called Bajaj Mobility AG.

  • The Supervisory and Management Boards of PBAG, PMAG, and KTM have been restructured, marking the complete exit of the Pierer Group.

A New Chapter For KTM’s Global Future

This landmark deal, completed on 18 November 2025, officially shifts the control of one of Europe’s most iconic motorcycle brands to India.

As for KTM, this marks the start of a fresh chapter under a new, stable management structure - one driven by Bajaj’s operational efficiency, cost discipline, and proven production expertise. If there were ever a moment to say, “KTM now rides orange, saffron, white and green!” this would be it.
