BMW Motorrad has teased the upcoming BMW CE 02 premium electric scooter on their social media. This should mean the e-scooter’s launch is just around the corner. The CE 02 will be the second premium offering from the brand, after the recently launched BMW CE 04.
The BMW CE 02 has an interesting looking design which makes it stand out from other electric scooters, and looks quite stylish. Thanks to the beautiful graphics and modern styling, it manages to project a unique image.
Powering the CE 02 is an air-cooled synchronous motor that outputs a peak power of 11kW/15PS. It is offered in two battery configurations in the international market: a 1.96kWh single battery configuration or a 1.96kWh dual battery configuration with claimed ranges of about 45km and 90km respectively.

Looking at the underpinnings, the CE 02 is built on a double loop frame and is suspended on an inverted fork and an offset monoshock. The e-scooter rolls on die-cast aluminum wheels and braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
The CE 02 has a 3.5-inch TFT display with essential readouts like speed, battery level, time, trip and odometer readout. Other features include 3 riding modes: Flow, Surf And Splash, a reverse mode, and smartphone connectivity and related features.
When it comes to pricing, we can expect the BMW CE 02 to be much more affordable than the recently launched BMW CE 04. This is because the CE 02 is built in collaboration with TVS and is currently manufactured at TVS’s Hosur plant. We can expect the BMW CE 02 to be launched in the coming weeks, at a price that is slightly above the TVS X electric scooter. So somewhere around the Rs 5 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
