2024 could be the year we could see the re-introduction of popular nameplates in their latest avatars from both Renault and Nissan

Renault and Nissan both had a rather quiet year in 2023, introducing only a couple of special editions  of their existing models. However, both the carmakers aim to kick up some dust in 2024 with the introduction of new models. Here are the four Renault and Nissan cars, two from each carmaker, expected to be introduced in 2024.

2024 Renault Duster

The recently unveiled third-generation Renault Duster is expected to arrive in India in 2024, bringing back the popular nameplate to our shores. Expected to become the marque's new flagship offering in India, the third-gen Duster gets sharper styling, a more feature-loaded cabin and cleaner engines with both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD). Renault Triber Turbo

The speculations around Renault introducing a more powerful turbo-petrol engine option for the Triber MPV has been going on since 2021. It's anticipated that in 2024, this might materialise, equipping the sub-4m crossover MPV with the same 100 PS engine from the Kiger SUV. This upgrade is expected to offer both manual transmission (MT) and continuously variable transmission (CVT) options. However, aside from this powertrain update, no other significant changes are anticipated for the Triber.

The updated iteration of the fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail, unveiled in 2023, is anticipated to arrive in India in 2024. Likely brought in via the completely built-up unit (CBU) route, this SUV is poised to become the flagship offering from Nissan in India. The vehicle is expected to offer an optional strong-hybrid powertrain. Additionally, both 2WD and AWD configurations will likely be available, providing consumers with diverse options to suit their preferences and driving needs. More details about the Nissan X-Trail can be found here

Nissan Magnite Facelift

The Magnite, the sole offering from Nissan in India since its launch in December 2020, has undergone minor updates. However, it appears poised for a more substantial refresh, expected to take place next year. Anticipated changes for the facelifted Magnite include tweaks to its design along with the addition of a few extra features. However, it's unlikely to receive any modifications in the engine and gearbox departments.

These are the cars you can expect to be introduced here from both the car manufacturers. Which one are you keeping your eyes set on? Let us know in the comments.
