The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has just got a 2025 refresh to celebrate 20 years of the Apache brand. The bikemaker has rolled out this updated version, called the 2025 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, and it comes with a few key changes. While it remains mostly the same, it’s now got more flash, and a few clever hand-me-downs from its younger sibling, the ridiculously lengthy-named TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Dual Channel ABS with USD (TVS, if you’re reading this, please consider shorter names).

Leading the charge, quite literally, is the golden coloured 37mm upside down fork, seemingly similar to the aforementioned TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Dual Channel ABS with USD (As an owner of a 'TVS Apache RTR 160 4V BS4 Carburetor Rear Drum SuperMoto ABS', I can confirm it fits on the RC card). We feel this change was unwarranted as the current model with the Showa made telescopic fork comes with preload adjustability. And the price? The updated Apache 200 starts at Rs 1,53,990 - putting it just above the now-base-spec RTR 200 4V sitting at Rs 1,48,620 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).

Also new is a single-piece handlebar, replacing the split clip-ons that TVS Apache RTR 200 4V normally has. This change — again, borrowed from the 160 4V. It also gets three new colours: Glossy Black, Matte Black, and Granite Grey — all with updated graphics for the big ‘RTR’ stickers on either side of the fuel tank. The front wheel is now a red colour while the rear is painted black (Harley Quinn fans will love it).

Everything else is still familiar and that’s not really a bad thing. The 197.75cc, air/oil-cooled engine continues to deliver the same 20.8PS and 17.25Nm, with a strong mid-range and a top-end that’s always been one of the segment’s most rewarding. The 2025 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V also still remains the most feature rich in its segment with three ride modes: Urban, Rain, and Sport; a slipper clutch, adjustable brake and clutch levers, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Apache purists will scoff at TVS for swapping the adjustable telescopic fork with non-adjustable inverted ones. It seems like TVS wants to make the Apache RTR 200 a wee bit more easy-going with more priority on how fancy it looks. Instead of the inverted fork, we wish TVS had given the bike a neat looking TFT screen with smartphone connectivity as that was the only aspect that felt a little dated at this time and age.
