Taken together, the Roxx clearly positions itself as the more feature-loaded and premium offering of the two.

Both SUVs offer petrol and diesel engine choices with manual and automatic gearboxes. However, the Thar Roxx gets higher output figures across its lineup. The 2025 Thar retains its older engine options, including the 1.5-litre diesel which is offered only with 6-speed manual and rear-wheel drivetrain.

The 2025 Thar facelift continues to focus on being rugged yet accessible. With its lower starting price, it appeals to buyers who want a capable off-roader without stretching their budget too far. With few modern interior updates, it further increases its appeal. But do note that you’d still have to compromise on practicality. 

The Thar Roxx, on the other hand, takes things a step further. It’s larger in size, offers more powerful engine options, and comes loaded with premium features. The additional two extra doors also makes life much easier if you want to carry more passengers. This makes it a more versatile choice, but does command a price premium. 

Ultimately, the choice depends on what you value more, affordability or a bigger SUV with a more practical and spacious cabin.
