The upcoming ADV looks sleeker and more purposeful than the current-gen 390 Adventure

The 2024 KTM 390 Adventure has been spied testing abroad yet again, and it looks sleeker and meaner than the current-gen bike. It is based on the all-new KTM 390 Duke that was launched only a few months ago.

We can see from the pictures that the ADV gets a taller windscreen, sleeker, sharper fuel tank extensions, and a high-rise front fender. The overall design is pretty sleek, and is reminiscent of the KTM 450 Rally Replica. The 390 Adventure gets a dual-projector headlight setup and it is  vertically stacked on this bike. Also similar to the rally bike is the tower-like instrument console seen in the spied pictures. In a typical fashion, the footpegs seem to be slightly rearset which will help in grabbing the bike with the legs while standing up.

It will be powered by the same 398.63cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine found on the 390 Duke and will likely get similar power (46PS) and torque (39Nm) figures. However, expect the tuning to be different to suit the ADV’s characteristics. The exhaust system seen on the spied pictures is an underbelly one but the production-spec bike is expected to get a full-length side exhaust which will ensure greater water-wading capabilities for the ADV.

Since the upcoming 390 Adventure is based on the new 390 Duke, the ADV gets the offset monoshock setup and the split-trellis frame but has been altered to suit the bike’s characteristics. Also, the sub-frame seems to be different from the one on the naked streetfighter, and is a lot sleeker. It also gets a different swingarm, and a single-piece contoured seat as opposed to split units in the current-gen model. The front suspension definitely has more wheel travel, and is adjustable as is evident from adjusters on the fork. The spoke wheels look like they’re 21-inch up front and 18-inch at the rear.

The next-gen KTM 390 Adventure is expected to make its debut at EICMA 2024 and will likely be priced around the Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom) mark when launched in India. Its main rival will be the Himalayan 450 and the upcoming Hero Xpulse 400.
