It isn’t very clear from the teaser as to what updates the 150cc bike is due yet. We speculate that the N150 will receive a rear disc brake. Currently, the bike comes with a 260mm front disc brake and 130mm rear drum brake with single-channel ABS. Accompanying this could even be dual-channel ABS. Bajaj was the first to introduce dual-channel ABS in the 160cc segment (with the Pulsar N160) and it’s possible that Bajaj could do the same with the N150.
Fitting the N150 with a rear disc brake and dual-channel ABS would also help in distinguishing the bike from Bajaj’s other offering in the 150cc segment, the Bajaj Pulsar 150. The Pulsar 150 comes with single disc and twin disc variants with single-channel ABS available in both. So, with dual-channel ABS, the Pulsar N150 will be positioned as the more modern 150cc Pulsar with modern features while the Pulsar 150 will pull on the nostalgia card of the Pulsars of yesteryears with its iconic design that made the Pulsar brand a household name.
The Bajaj Pulsar N150, with the addition of a rear disc and dual-channel ABS, is expected to command a premium of about Rs 9,000 over the current single-channel ABS version’s Rs 1,17,677 (ex-showroom New Delhi) price tag. Its primary rival will be the Yamaha FZ-S V3.
