Tata has been a real tease with its new Curvv and Curvv EV SUV-coupes. Even after launching the electric version last week, the Indian carmaker didn’t open the order books for it. So it might have been a bummer if you were eager to book one, but the wait is now finally over. Tata Motors has started taking orders for the Curvv EV and the SUV coupe has also reached dealer floors for you to check it out in person. Until you do, here’s a quick look at its highlighting details:
While some elements of the Curvv EV’s design might be familiar, there are parts of the design that are completely unique. The latter has mainly to do with its sloping roofline, which gives it a SUV-coupe silhouette.
The nose shares similarities with the Nexon with its connected LED DRLs and split LED headlight setup. Even its closed off grille is split across and sports some sleek inserts as part of its details. The car sits on aero-spec 18-inch alloys in profile, which look chic along with its flush door handles that get LED illumination.
Ofcourse, the sloping roofline is the highlight in profile and it flows down rather neatly into the boot lip. There’s a split roof-mounted spoiler and a shark fin antenna that induce a little sporty-ness in the design. The tailgate is flat and houses the sleek strip of LED tailight, while the reversing and fog lamps are situated below.
The cabin too shares similarities with the Nexon as the dashboard is nearly identical to the sub-4m SUV, although the steering has been carried over from the Harrier/Safari. There’s multiple themes on offer, depending on the variant selected and there’s no shortage of features as well.
Highlights include a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a large 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control unit, ventilated seats and ambient lighting (multi-colour).

Safety is taken care of by 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree surround view camera with front and rear parking sensors and Level-2 ADAS features.
As for its powertrain, Tata offers two battery pack options: Medium Range and Long Range with MIDC-claimed range of 502km and 585km, respectively. The former gets a 45 kWh battery pack, which is paired to a 150PS/215Nm electric motor. The long range version gets a bigger 55 kWh battery pack, which sends charge to a 167PS/215Nm electric motor.
With prices ranging between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Curvv EV rivals the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 and lower variants of the BYD Atto 3.
