Now that the MG has given us a first look at the Comet EV, we now know quite a few details about the upcoming India-spec electric vehicle. The compact Comet EV is sold in multiple variants in overseas markets where it exists as the Wuling Air EV, but will be offered in India in its 4-seater avatar. It’ll be a smaller alternative for the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3 EV.
Here’s a look at the new MG Comet EV in detailed images:

The MG Comet is a compact, 2-door EV that seats four people. Its overall aesthetic is derived from the Wuling Air EV sold overseas but the Comet EV gets some distinguishing styling cues.

At the front, it has dual-element LED headlights and a full-width LED DRL. The charging port cover has an illuminated MG logo. An air vent is placed low on the bumper, flanked by indicator lights.

Over on the sides, details such as the white-on-black wheel covers and the rear window that extends further down the sides below the front window line can be seen. It has a boxy and tallboy silhouette.

The 12-inch steel wheels get wheel covers with a 4-spoke, white-on-black design as standard.

At the rear, the Comet EV gets LED taillights with a full-width lighting element below the windshield. It also features rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.

The Comet EV will be offered in Starry Black, Aurora Silver and Candy White colours. In addition, it’ll get two dual-tone paint options – Apple Green and Candy White – with a contrast black roof. The green colour option will come as a dual tone only.

MG hasn’t given us a look inside the EV yet, but the carmaker had shared a teaser showing its dashboard earlier (pictured). The Comet will get features such as dual 10.25-inch displays for the driver’s instrumentation and infotainment, keyless entry, connected car tech dual airbags and an electronic parking brake.

There haven’t been any official updates on the Comet EV’s specs, either. However, a recent leak revealed that the EV will get a 42PS e-motor paired to a 17.3kWh battery pack and deliver up to 230km of range.
More details about the MG Comet EV’s features and specs will be revealed shortly and MG should begin taking orders for the EV soon. We expect its prices to start at around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
