Apart from doing things in a better way than the ZS EV, the BE 6 debuts five features in its segment.

The Mahindra BE 6 is one of the latest electric SUVs in the Indian scene, while the MG ZS EV was the first one in the segment. Both sit in the compact SUV space, hence being direct rivals. However, the BE 6 carries a notable premium and justifiably so as the car is loaded with amenities, many of which are not found in any of its competitors. That said, in this report, we’ll see the 10 features it gets over the MG ZS EV. Let’s begin.

Bigger Displays

Displays are a key feature in cars now, whether for infotainment or the instrument cluster. The Mahindra BE 6 gets larger screens for both, featuring 12.3-inch displays compared to the 10.1-inch infotainment system and 7-inch digital driver’s display in the MG ZS EV.

Sunroof Illumination

Both the Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EVs come with panoramic sunroofs, with the former having a fixed unit while the latter’s opens up. However, the BE 6’s sunroof is equipped with illumination, a completely new feature in the segment, let alone in the ZS EV.

Ventilated Seats

The Mahindra BE 6 offers seat ventilation for its front-row passengers. This feature adds extra comfort for the driver and co-driver, especially while driving in hotter climates. It is a missing bit in the MG ZS EV.

More Premium Sound System

If you’re a music enthusiast who enjoys listening to your favourite playlist while driving, the Mahindra BE 6 offers a far better experience with a premium Harman Kardon audio system paired with Dolby Atmos. It has as many as 16 speakers compared to the generic 6-speaker unit in the ZS EV.

AR-based HUD

Another segment-first feature in the Mahindra BE 6. It gets a head-up display, which is missing in the ZS EV. However, that’s not all. Its HUD is equipped with an AR-based feature that provides the driver with more guidance in their line of sight.

Auto Parking

The most standout feature on this list! The Mahindra BE 6 comes with an auto-parking function that allows you to step out of the car and have it park automatically. Technology at play, magic in sight – convenience at its peak.

Dual Wireless Phone Charger

The MG ZS EV does have a wireless phone charger, but the Mahindra BE 6 offers an extra one. So, if you’re travelling with your partner and both of your devices are running low on charge, you can juice them up simultaneously.

In-car Camera

The Mahindra BE 6 has an in-car camera for video conferencing on the go. So, even when you're on the move, you can attend your important remote meetings right from your car.

Extra Airbag

The MG ZS EV comes with 6 airbags as standard. In contrast, the Mahindra BE 6 offers 7 airbags in its higher-spec Pack Three Select and Pack Three variants. Apart from the shared front, side, and curtain airbags with the ZS EV, the BE 6 gets an extra one for the driver’s knee.

V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) Technology

This is an EV-specific feature that has been introduced relatively recently and is not yet found in many cars. Since the MG ZS EV has been on the market for quite some time, we might see this in a future update. However, as of now, it falls short of the BE 6 in this regard. The V2L technology allows you to charge other devices using your vehicle’s battery power.

BONUS!

The Mahindra BE 6 gets a ‘Groove Me’ feature that has its entire lighting setup synced to the beats of music. Moreover, it can become your disco on the go. Again, this is something entirely new in this segment.

Price And Rivals

The Mahindra BE 6 is priced from Rs 18.9 lakh to Rs 26.9 lakh (ex-showroom) while the MG ZS EV is priced between Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 26.64 lakh (ex-showroom).

Prices (ex-showroom)

Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 26.64 lakh (without BaaS)
Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 20.76 lakh + Rs 4.5/km

The latter can also be had at a more affordable price along with the battery rental scheme, where you need to pay Rs 4.5 per km extra for battery usage.

The Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV have common rivals like the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.

All things considered, will you be going for these extra in the BE 6 or you can settle with the more affordable MG ZS EV? Let us know in the comments.
