Expert's Opinion on Bullet 350

Overview

The Bullet for the Modern World
The Bullet for the Modern World
  • The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has been one of the most iconic models from the Chennai-based manufacturer for decades. And in 2023, the bike maker updated the retro roadster with the J-series engine and other upgrades making it more suitable for the modern world.

Design

Classy retro styling
Classy retro styling
  • The iconic Bullet 350 design carries on, giving the bike a muscular road presence
  • Top portion of the rear fender is less boxy in the J-series Bullet and the tail light has been redesigned
  • These changes make the bike look modern while still retaining the retro charm
  • The pinstripes on the tank and the side panel make the bike look quite premium
  • The design can look very similar to that of the Classic 350 for some people though

Performance & Mileage

Refined retro performance
Refined retro performance
  • The J-series feels much more refined than the UC engine in the previous model
  • Has ample low-end and mid-range torque, making low-speed riding very easy
  • Great for commuting in the city or cruising on the highway in a relaxed manner
  • Smooth gear changes and light clutch lever action
  • Vibrations can be felt slightly on the footpegs and the handlebar at speeds above the 60kmph

Handling

Decent Handler
Decent Handler
  • The Bullet 350 feels very well balanced and not that heavy (despite the 194kg kerb weight) on the move
  • Manoeuvring through city traffic and making quick directions is fairly easy on the bike
  • Brakes lack initial bite and stopping power could’ve been better. Feedback from the lever is decent though

Ride Quality

A comfy ride for the most part
A comfy ride for the most part
  • The suspension soaks up bumps and potholes very well and the overall riding experience is comfortable
  • The rear suspensions setup is on the firmer side, so bumps can be felt when ridden over them at high speeds

Comfort & Storage

Comfy riding posture
Comfy riding posture
  • The Bullet 350 has an upright riding posture with an easy to reach handlebar and mid-set footpegs
  • The rider seat is soft and plush, making it very comfortable for commutes in the city
  • But the soft seat can get taxing on long rides - the optional touring seat is a better option here
  • The 194kg kerb weight can be felt while trying to move the bike around the parking

Features

Adequate features list
Adequate features list
  • The features list is quite adequate for a retro roadster with the semi-digital instrument console
  • The digital inset with fuel gauge is a great addition
  • The layout around the console could’ve been better - it just gets a round RE logo on the right hand side
  • The logo can be replaced by the optional Tripper navigation pod

Verdict

Is the Bullet 350 worth buying?
Is the Bullet 350 worth buying?
  • The J-series Royal Enfield Bullet 350 provides smooth and tractable performance, good handling capabilities, comfortable riding experience and a decent list of features
  • But the Rs 1.73 lakh - Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom) price range is very similar to that of the Classic 350, which might confuse some potential buyers

Key Things to Know about Bullet 350

Upside
  • Refined engine lets you cruise at 90-100kmph effortlessly
  • Comfortable ergonomics and Smooth gearbox
Downside
  • Lever feedback could’ve been better
  • Expensive, priced too close to the Royal Enfield Classic 350
Expert's Conclusion

The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is a definitive choice for those seeking an uncomplicated retro roadster. With its revamped engine and chassis, the new Bullet 350 exudes a sense of completeness compared to its predecessor. Nonetheless, its price tag places it in close proximity to the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Furthermore, the riding experience remains quite similar, leaving the ultimate decision hinging on your design preferences.

I owned this bike 2 years ago and still its working in mint condition. No issues, not any error that I faced. I used this bike for my long tours and mileage was fantastic and I suggest that for long drives. This bike is 10/10 in comfort. Maintenance cost was also affordable and I am still using this bike for my daily office works. I suggest you to buy this because this bike is multi-talented, you can use it for long drive, daily use, family tour, and many more ways with affordable mileage and cost.

Maine Royal Enfield Bullet 350 ko chalaya hai aur iska experience kaafi powerful aur classic feel deta hai. Is bike ka sabse bada highlight iska thump sound aur strong road presence hai. Engine 349cc ka hai jo smooth aur torque-focused performance deta hai, especially low speed par bhi bike easily chalti hai. Long rides ke liye comfortable seat aur stable ride quality milti hai. Royal Enfield mileage average around 35–36 kmpl ke aaspaas mil jata hai, jo is type ki heavy bike ke liye theek hai. Royal Enfield Pros: Classic look aur heavy build. Powerful engine aur strong pickup. Long rides ke liye comfortable. Cons: Weight zyada hai (new riders ko thodi problem ho sakti hai). Mileage average hi hai, City traffic me thodi heavy feel hoti hai. Final Verdict: Agar tumhe royal look + strong bike + sound pasand hai, to Bullet 350 ek perfect choice hai. Lekin1agar lightweight ya high mileage chahiye, to ye best option nahi hai.

Royal Enfield standard 350

5.0

I own a Royal Enfield Standard 350 (2022 model), which marked the end of the UCE engine era and beautifully carried forward the old-school charm. What I truly appreciate about this bike are its impressive mileage, comfortable and relaxed riding posture, smooth pickup, and the added safety of ABS.

Standard Bullet 350

4.6

One of the best cruiser bike in the segment with royal enfield loyalty. The sweet spot is around 65-75 kmph which is enjoyable and comfortable. The new BE6 variants are much smoother now with smooth cluching. About the mileage, the mileage is pretty much around 30-35 km/l. It feels heavy but according to a cruiser bike it is much stable now and in traffic the mileage is about 26-30 km/l in real use.
