Mahindra Thar Roxx bookings are open now.
Deliveries will start on October 12, 2024.
It’s available in six variants: MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L and AX7L.
It gets 2-litre turbo-petrol engines and a 2.2-litre diesel engine option, four-wheel drive is limited to the latter.
Prices start from Rs 12.99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
The Mahindra Thar Roxx has attracted a lot of attention ever since its launch and the 5-door offroader surely justifies the hype with plenty of notable updates over its 3-door sibling. If you are keen to buy the car, you’d be batting an eye for the chance to make a booking. Well, you need not wait any longer as the carmaker has started taking official entries in its order books.
However, unofficial bookings have been open for a while, so the SUV already has a waiting period of up to 3 months in select cities. So if you’re in a hurry to bring one home, we suggest you be quick with your booking. Until then here's a quick rundown of all the details that you need to know before purchasing.
The 5-door Mahindra Thar Roxx comes packed with several premium features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a wireless phone charger, keyless entry, cruise control and ventilated front seats.

The cabin can also be had in a dark ‘Mocha Brown’ shade beside the original Ivory theme. However, this new colour option is only limited to the 4x4 variants.

It also has plenty of passenger safety features like 6 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-descent control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and level-2 ADAS.

It gets a 2-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine option. Both engines get the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The 2-litre turbo petrol engine produces 162 PS/ 330 Nm with the manual and 177 PS/ 380 Nm with the automatic.
The diesel is available in two tunes: a lower tune that churns out 152 PS and 330 Nm and a higher tune available only with the automatic and delivers 175 PS and 370 Nm.
The four-wheel drive can only be had with the 2.2-litre diesel powertrain.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the rear-wheel drive variants. If you want a 4x4 drivetrain, its price ranges between Rs 18.79 lakh to Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The off-roader rivals the Force Gurkha 5-door and is a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Its pricing also puts it against compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
