The Mahindra Thar Roxx is arguably one of, if not, THE BIGGEST car launch of 2024 in India. There has been a lot of constant buzz around the car, and it certainly is living up to the hype as the SUV already has a 3-month waiting period. That waiting time isn’t too heavy for a Mahindra, but considering that the Thar Roxx’s official bookings haven’t even started yet, we reckon this number is going to rocket very soon. 

While official bookings will start on October 3, unofficial pre-orders are well underway, clearly, and this waiting time is at dealer-level. Let’s take a look how much you’ll have to wait in your city:

• Pune, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad have the highest waiting periods going up to 3 months.

• New Delhi and Bengaluru have a 2-month waiting period for the Thar Roxx.

• In Mumbai, you might get the Thar Roxx within 2 months of booking it.

The Thar Roxx is more than just a 3-door Thar with an extra set of doors. It gets its own unique styling cues like LED headlights and LED DRLs, and there are significant changes inside its cabin as well.

Apart from the new theme, it gets multiple premium features, including dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and digital driver’s display, auto AC, 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front seats, 6-way power driver’s seat, and a panoramic sunroof. Its safety kit comprises 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and a level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Unlike the 3-door Thar, the Thar Roxx’s 4x4 powertrain is limited to the diesel engine only. As a result, the turbo-petrol engine is available in a rear-wheel drive configuration only.

The full price list for the Thar Roxx, including its 4x4 variants, has been revealed, and the prices range between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the Force Gurkha 5-door and serves as a bigger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
