Triumph Motorcycles India commemorated its first year in the Indian two-wheeler market by showcasing the Triumph Tiger 800 XRx and Tiger 800 XCx at the India Bike Week motorcycle show in Goa. It was the first occasion that both the versions of the Triumph Tiger were showcased to the Indian two-wheeler enthusiasts. The first generation Tiger 800 and 800 XC were launched in 2010 and met with considerable success across the world. And Triumph’s engineers have been working hard in the recent past to build upon an already successful and popular motorcycle. Their objective was to refine the machine further to provide even more riding pleasure and increased fuel efficiency. The result is the new range, spanning four different variants – the XR, XC and top of the line XRx and XCx. For our market only the Tiger 800 XRx and Tiger 800 XCx will be heading to our shores soon with the launch happening by March or April 2015.

The Triumph Tiger 800 XRx and Tiger XCx will be the first motorcycles in its segment to feature cruise control as a standard fitment. Other features on the Triumph Tiger offerings include traction control and switchable ABS which according to Triumph increases the rider safety. Other additions on the motorcycles includes ride by wire technology for better throttle response and WP suspension parts (XRx gets Showa suspension). Powering the motorcycles is a liquid-cooled in-line 800cc produces 95PS at 9250rpm and although maximum torque of 79Nm is claimed at 7850rpm. The Triumph Tiger 800 XRx and 800 XCx will retail for around Rs 14-15 lakh (ex-showroom) in our two-wheeler market.

Speaking on the occasion, Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India said, “We are delighted with the way things have panned out for us in India. Whether it is the sales figures we have achieved or the awards our motorcycles have won at various auto honors, it has been enormously rewarding stint so far. We were able to share our enthusiasm and joy with the people who have contributed to all our accomplishments of the past year! Looking forward to many more such fun activities as the year progresses!”
