Nearly half of this was achieved in the last three months itself

  • The Nexon EV retails from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 16.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered in three variants.

  • Powered by a 129PS electric motor juiced up by a 30.2kWh battery pack.

  • Boasts an ARAI-certified 312 km of range with fast charging compatibility.

  • These sales figures could encourage EV adoption in India.

Tata Motors’ second electric vehicle in India, the Nexon EV, which was launched 10 months ago, is having a pretty decent sales run in the country. The carmaker has revealed that as of November 2020, the Nexon EV has achieved sales of 2,200 units. Nearly half of this (1,000) was achieved in the last three months alone (Sept-Nov 2020). Besides, the carmaker has also introduced an e-mobility ecosystem called ‘Tata uniEVerse’ to assist customers with facilities such as charging solutions, improved retail experiences and financing options.

The Nexon EV currently retails for Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 16.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in three variants: XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. It is also available via subscription plans starting from Rs 29,500 per month for a period of 36 months. It's nearly identical to the standard Nexon aside from blue accents all over. Feature highlights include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, automatic headlamps, a sunroof, ZConnect car tech, and rain-sensing wipers.

The biggest difference is under the hood. It is powered by a 129PS electric motor which is juiced up by a 30.2kWh battery pack. All this amounts to an ARAI-certified 312 km of range on a full charge. It also gets two drive modes: Drive and Sport. In terms of charging capabilities, a DC fast charger achieves a 0 to 80 percent charge in 60 minutes, with a regular charger juicing up 10 to 90 percent in 8.5 hours.
