The Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari are the two desi offerings in the midsize SUV segment. Both models have an iconic fan following and impress with their rugged looks, a decently long feature list, and powerful powertrains. But we wanted to know which one you, our viewers, would prefer. So we conducted a poll on our Instagram page to find out.
Take a look at the results:
A total of 2,635 respondents participated in this poll. And we weren’t surprised when the majority of you (1,743 respondents) voted for the Mahindra XUV700 over the Tata Safari.
The reason why the XUV700 is of interest for many people is its attractive pricing. A 200PS petrol SUV from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) does sound like a bargain, right? It is also way better than its spiritual successor, the XUV500. Then there’s the super lengthy feature list that could give luxury cars a run for their money. To know what we thought about Mahindra’s latest SUV, read our in-depth first drive review.

The Tata Safari, priced from Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom), is one of the most potent three-row SUVs one could buy in the market today. Sure, it doesn’t come with the XUV700’s features like the dual 10.25-inch screens and driver assistance features. The lack of a petrol engine and all-wheel drive system doesn’t help its case either. But the Safari is decently equipped, has a 170PS diesel engine, and is comfortable for 7 occupants. Read our detailed first drive review to know what we thought.
We will soon be bringing both the SUVs together for a detailed comparison. So stay tuned to ZigWheels. Until then, let us know what you thought about the Safari and XUV700 in the comments section.
