2010 has been one of the busiest years for Mercedes-Benz in India, which over the past year has managed to uplift the luxury car market in India with some of the finest cars known to come out of the Mercedes-Benz stables all over the world. These include the all new E350 CGI, the M-Class Grand Edition, the SLS AMG Supercar, the E-Class Coupe and the supremely royal Mercedes-Benz R-Class.
Offering its customers more than just a premium automobile on four wheels, these cars have stepped into India with some of the most advanced safety technologies like Attention Assist, Beam Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, thus making Indian roads a safer place to tread on.
Mercedes-Benz’s efforts in 2010 on catering to the mobility needs of urban automobile enthusiasts and successful individuals in the country has paid off in the form of multiple awards by various automobile publications and media houses in the country.
Emerging as one of the most successful brands amongst the luxury car manufacturers of the country, it has won as many as eight prestigious awards from reputed automotive magazines and television channels for 2010.

The awards won this year include: ‘Import Car of the year, SLS AMG’ by CNBC Overdrive Awards and Car & Bike India Awards, Performance Car of the Year, SLS AMG by BS Motoring, CBU Sports car of the year, SLS AMG by ET Zigwheels, Favourite Chauffer driven car, E-Class by AutoBild, SUV of the year, GL 350 by TopGear and the Best Brand Award by Auto India Best Brand Awards 2011.
Expressing delight on receiving the awards, Mr. Peter T Honegg, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “I am very pleased that Mercedes-Benz has won all the prestigious awards both for its brand image and product offerings for different categories for which it was nominated. These awards also reinforce our belief in offering the best products and services for the Indian customers who deserves the best.”
Going into 2011, a year that marks the 125th birth anniversary of the German car maker, Mercedes-Benz continued its remarkable growth story into the second month of the year, with its best ever February sales figures of 662 units, reflecting a growth of 51% over February 2010.
