Mercedes is all set to unleash the meaner, more powerful and performance-oriented E 63 AMG in India today. Differentiating it from its mortal stock E-Class are the AMG twin blade radiator grille in silver chrome and the so-called A-wing in the AMG front fascia while the striking air outlet openings at the sides, the black grille and the two sets of twin chrome tailpipes belonging to the AMG sports exhaust system definitely announce your arrival. The E63 AMG also comes in a more aggressively styled S model. (Update: Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG Launched)
While it does share similarities with the more sober E-Class in terms of styling, pop open the hood and the E63 AMG has a completely different story to tell. With a 5.5-litre biturbo V8 pushing out a whopping 558PS and 720Nm of torque, the E63 AMG delivers a performance that’s right up supercar alley. The S model takes the madness a notch higher putting out 586 PS and 800 Nm of torque. Transferring all that power to the rear wheels (all four wheels in case of the S-Model) is a 7-speed automatic with paddle shifts. Result? 100km/h is achieved in 4.2 seconds while the more aggressive S model does the same job in just 3.7 seconds. Speed, as in all models, is electronically limited to 250km/h. On the insides, superior quality materials, excellent workmanship and an exclusive ambiance are common to all E 63 AMG models. The black interior of the E 63 AMG S-Model features grey contrasting seams on the AMG sports seats, the door centre panels, the door armrests and the centre console while the grip areas of the black Nappa leather steering wheel rim with flattened top and bottom is finished in Alcantara. The car is also loaded to the brim with features like Active parking assist, Attention Assist, Collision Prevention Assist, all-LED headlamps and a fantastic 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen BeoSound surround sound system.
Stay tuned to ZigWheels.com to catch all the updates including the E 63 AMG’s pricing when the car launches at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida today afternoon.
