After the completion of the first round of the Uttarakhand Adventure Rally held in Dehradun, the Maruti Suzuki National Super League TSD Rally Championship has now reached the city of Pune for the second round of the event. This leg of the rally has been termed as 'Deccan Rally' since it will have the participants driving through Pune, Ratnagiri and Goa. The event will commence on May 13 in Pune and will conclude in Goa on May 16. The second round of the rally will have over 45 participants covering a distance of 700kms in their cars.
Speaking on the 'Deccan Rally', R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “We have received great response for the first round of the National Super League TSD Rally Championship hosted in Uttarakhand, which was the maiden rally from our stable in the mountain city. Similar to the northern region, we look forward to immense enthusiasm from our Pune motorsport lovers, which has been a hitherto unexplored territory for motorsports.”

The Time-Distance-Speed (TSD) format is a very safe format of rallying. It requires good coordination between the driver and navigator to complete the course. The navigator has the responsibility of directing the route through the road-book supplied at the start of the rally. The driver has to navigate the car and complete it by following a pre-determined speed limit. Going too fast gets you a bigger penalty than going slow. The second leg of the 2016 Maruti Suzuki Deccan Rally is open only for four-wheelers.
The National Super League TSD Rally Championship (NSRC) comprises a total of six events across the country. After the Deccan Rally, the other four rallies will be held at The Backwaters Rally in Cochin, The Mughal Rally in Jammu and Kashmir, The Rally of Gujarat and lastly concluding with the Arunachal Rally.
The NSRC has been introduced by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India (FMSCI) with the main agenda to promote the motorsports among the youth of India.
