Mahindra XUV300 AMT Bookings Open; Launch This Week

• Mahindra dealers have started accepting bookings for a token of Rs 20,000. 
• The AMT will be available only with the 116PS/300Nm 1.5-litre diesel engine. 
• Expect the AMT variants to carry a premium of around Rs 60,000.

We had earlier reported that the XUV300 with the 6-speed AMT will be launched soon. Well, now, we have information that it will happen as early as this week, and we have even more dope on the new variant. According to various dealer sources, Mahindra has started accepting bookings for the XUV300 AMT for a token amount of Rs 20,000.

Now you can book an XUV300 AMT from Mahindra dealerships across the country. According to the information we have received, Mahindra is expected to offer the 6-speed AMT in higher variants, while the lower variants will have to make do with the 6-speed manual gearbox. As for the pricing, expect the AMT variants to command a premium of around Rs 60,000 over their manual counterparts.

Mahindra, by offering the AMT, is also filling the void that is present in an otherwise sensible XUV300 lineup. The Magneti Marelli-sourced AMT is coupled with the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 116PS and 300Nm of torque. The XUV300 also gets a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor that churns out 111PS and 200Nm. In the future, it will also get a more powerful BS6-compliant 1.2-litre turbo GDI unit that makes 130PS and 230Nm of torque.

The AMT is a welcome addition as it will broaden the XUV300’s appeal in a segment crowded by the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Ford Ecosport .
