India-bound Audi A4 Launched in Indonesia

The 2016 Audi A4 is expected to be launched in India by the end of this year.

German carmaker Audi has launched the fifth generation of the A4 sedan in Indonesia. The luxury saloon has been launched in two variants- a FWD version which is priced at Rs 49.23 lakh (990,000,000 IDR) and a Quattro (AWD) equipped variant at Rs 59.7 lakh (1,200,000,000 IDR).

Both the cars are powered by a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine. However, the same engine in the FWD variant is tuned to deliver 192PS of power along with 320Nm of torque whereas the 2-litre unit in the AWD (Quattro) variant churns out 255PS of power along with 370Nm of torque.

When launched later this year in India, it will also be powered by Audi’s tried and tested 2.0-litre diesel mill which has been updated to churn out around 190PS of power along with 400Nm of torque. Audi might also bring in a manual gearbox for the first time in the A4 here in India.

The significant changes in the 2016 Audi A4 include the addition of Audi Matrix LED headlights, 3D sound Bang and Olufsen music system, Audi’s much famed 12.3-inch virtual cockpit system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
