With the 2019 CES in full swing, Harley-Davidson took the opportunity to reveal quite a few details regarding its revolutionary all-electric LiveWire motorcycle. Harley had left us stunned in 2014 with the concept form of the same bike and come August 2019, the production-spec bike will go on sale in USA.. The asking price of USD 29,799 (roughly equates to Rs 20.80 lakh, excluding Indian taxes and duties) is by no stretch affordable, but here is what you get for your buck.

For starters, since it is electric, Harley has assured that you will have 100 per cent of the torque the moment you wring open the throttle. That's not all, the bikemaker says that 100 per cent of the torque will be available at all times. Harley has also claimed a 0-100kmph time of 3.5s which is fairly quick for a motorcycle its size. And thanks to the position of the magnetic electric motor, which is placed lower than the battery, the LiveWire has a low centre of gravity.

It is said to have a range of 110 miles (177km) on a full charge with a Level 1 charger onboard. There’s a power cord that can be plugged into any standard household outlet, which can fully charge the batteries overnight. It gets a fast charging option too.

With a lightweight cast aluminium frame and fully adjustable Showa suspension setup, the LiveWire boasts of incredible handling prowess. Further aiding riding dynamics is Michelin Scorcher rubber at both ends.
Harley has already started accepting pre-orders for the bike and deliveries will commence in the US and western Europe from August 2019, with other markets to follow. Will it come to India? Well, let’s just wait and watch.
