Ducati had announced that it will be launching nine new motorcycles at the 2015. If reports are to be believed one of the new motorcycles is the next generation of the Ducati 899 Panigale. According to documents leaked by California Air Resources Board (CARB) it has allowed the new Ducati 959 Panigale to be sold in the US market. The new Ducati 959 Panigale is expected to replace the 899 Panigale. As the name suggests, the Ducati 859 Panigale will be powered by a new 955cc displacement twin-cylinder engine. The new bike has a 57cc higher displacement than its predecessor. The Ducati 899’s motor churns out 150PS and 99Nm of torque. Expect the above numbers to increase with the help of higher displacement. Expect power figures of around 165PS and 105Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted via six-speed gearbox with quickshifter.
The styling of the Ducati 959 Panigale is expected to remain unchanged barring few tweaks. Despite the larger engine, the 959 Panigale has lower hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emission levels than the 899, an attempt to meet new Euro 4 emission standards which come into effect in Europe on January 1st, 2016. The Ducati 959 Panigale will make its debut at the EICMA motorcycle show in November; watch this space for more updates.
