Milan, known for its fashion, is home to the renowned Milan Fashion Week held semi-annually since 1958. During this time, the streets of Milan are usually crowded with tourists from across the globe that come to appreciate the art. To their surprise, an unlikely German model was spotted sneaking around. It was the BMW X2 in a digital camouflage with tones of yellow, grey and black.

Identifying the car in its camouflaged avatar was not a problem for the spotters though. The kidney grills at the front and the BMW X1 like design were enough to give away its identity. The BMW X2 underpins the same UKL1 platform previously seen on the X1 and Mini Countryman, and is longer than the X1 with shorter overhangs at the rear. It will also get the BMW roundel on the C-pillar. At the back, it has a large, high-placed and well-sculpted bumper with a small tailgate.

The BMW X2 concept was first showcased at Paris Motor Show in 2016. The car is the toned down version of the concept and is expected to hit the European market in 2018. It will be slotted between the X1 and the X3 and is expected to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant is expected to carry a 2.0-litre engine producing 191PS, whereas the diesel variant is also expected to be a 2.0-litre unit and might be offered in different tunes of power viz. 150PS, 189PS and 230PS. All the engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
The BMW X2 is expected to launch in India by 2018.
