Ather Coming To Pune And Mumbai Sooner Than You Expect

While replying to a potential customer, Tarun Mehta, the Co-Founder and CEO of Ather Energy, revealed that the Bangalore-based startup will commence operations in Pune by November this year. This will be followed by Mumbai where Ather should hopefully be operational by December.

Ather currently sells the 450X electric scooter in Bengaluru and Chennai. It plans to enter other major cities like Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Coimbatore and Kolkata soon. Future plans include expanding its operations by entering Tier II and Tier III cities. Like other major bikemakers, the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed Ather’s expansion plans. However, Hero MotoCorp has infused another Rs 84 crore into the electric startup which should help it to get back on track.

Ather Energy currently offers the 450 and 450X scooter in Bengaluru and Chennai. These scooters recently received their seventh Over The Air (OTA) update in the form of a Dark mode. Know more details here. Ather will soon be discontinuing the 450 in favour of the 450 Plus and 450X. Ather has also introduced an exchange program where you can trade your petrol-powered two-wheeler for a new Ather electric scooter. Plans are afoot to sell pre-owned Ather scooters as well.
