Tata Motors is all set to take the wraps off the heavily revised Nexon in the upcoming festive season. As a part of its major update, the Indian marque has given it a heavily revised styling, plenty of new features and you can expect updates in the powertrains section as well. So without further ado, let’s get cracking into what all will be different in the Nexon.
Spy shots have shown that the 2023 Nexon will get a Curvv-inspired fascia with a split-LED headlight setup and DRLs that should span the width of the SUV. Its silhouette design is very familiar, but the new alloys do give it a breath of fresh air. And at the rear, the SUV now gets connected tail lamps that look modern and upmarket.
Previous spy shots have already revealed that the Nexon gets a heavily revised cabin. The Curvv influence carries forward on to the interior, where the two-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters and touch-based climate controls have been carried over from the concept. Besides, the model also gets a new Land Rover-inspired automatic gear lever.
The Nexon will get new features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital driver’s display, and six airbags. Bits such as the ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, Harman sound system, wireless phone charger, and cruise control should be carried forward.
On the safety front, apart from additional airbags, it should carry on with electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, hill-hold assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The 2023 Tata Nexon is expected to get the carmaker’s new 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine, which is likely to be teamed with a DCT. Apart from that, the existing 1.5-litre diesel unit and electric powertrains should be carried forward as it is.
The Nexon is expected to command a premium over the current model, which is priced from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, and upcoming facelifted Mahindra XUV300.
