The 2025 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has received a model year update, bringing a couple of new features and the addition of an automatic transmission in its all-wheel drive variants. However, these updates do come with a slight price increase of Rs 20,000 for the starting price. Does that make the car more appealing in the competitive SUV market in India? Well it might have as it certainly makes it more convenient and safer than before. Let’s take a closer look at everything that’s new.
Design-wise, there is nothing new to look out for. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder still sports a familiar styling with seven monotone colour options, four of which can be paired with a black roof for a dual-tone. It still has the familiar profile with the same LED lighting elements and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it gets the same dual-tone black/brown cabin theme.

The major changes lie in the feature set. The 2025 Urban Cruiser Hyryder now gets an updated speedometer with improved readability, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, rear-door sunshades, 15-watt Type-C fast charging USB ports and a display for air quality index. It also gets LED spot and reading cabin lamps as a standard fitment across trims. The updates don’t just end in convenience.

The new Hyryder also has enhanced safety with 6 airbags as standard now alongside an electronic parking brake with auto hold, which is limited to its automatic variants only. In fact, the mid-spec variants also get the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) now.

Besides features, the 2025 Urban Cruiser Hyryder also sees an update in its powertrain setup. It's all-wheel drive variants now get a 6-speed automatic transmission only replacing the earlier 5-speed manual. Barring this, it continues with its strong hybrid and mild hybrid engine options, along with the option of a CNG kit too. All of that is detailed below.

The 2025 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which earlier had a starting price of Rs 11.14 lakh, has now it updated to Rs 11.34 lakh (ex-showroom), meaning a premium of Rs 20,000. The entire price list of all the variants is not updated as yet.

It will continue to rival the other SUVs in its segment, like Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor.
Toyota has by far registered sales of 1 lakh units for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. And with the model year updates, the brand aims to make the SUV more crowd favourite in the segment. Whether that will be enough to take the Hyryder ahead in the competition remains to be seen. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
