The bigger C3 should be a seven-seater offering, likely positioned as an alternative to the Maruti Ertiga and Hyundai Creta

  • Three-row C3 spied testing in Europe; India launch expected by mid 2023.

  • To carry a rugged-looking SUV-crossover design but with inspiration from the C3 hatchback.

  • Cabin should look similar to the C3, but with more features, and an extra row of seats.

  • Expected with the C3’s 110PS, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, mated to manual and automatic options.

  • Prices likely to start off from around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).

The three-row Citroen C3 has been spied testing again on European roads. The three-row offering will be based on the hatchback’s platform but will be significantly larger in size. The carmaker has already confirmed the three-row C3 for a 2023 arrival in India.

The spy shots show that the three-row C3’s styling will be inspired by the C3 cross-hatchback. Moreover, it will carry more of an SUV-like design with rugged appeal, thanks to bigger tyres and body cladding. We’re expecting it to be a seven-seater car with flexible and removable seats, something similar to the Renault Triber

The interior is expected to look identical to that of the C3 hatchback, with certain premium additions for more convenience. The three-row offering should feature the same funky dashboard design, 10-inch touchscreen system and a digital driver’s display.

The three-row C3 is likely to use only the hatch’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which currently belts out 110PS. However, the same engine is also available in the global market in a higher state of tune making 130PS. While this turbo-petrol engine is paired with a six-speed manual, we’re expecting an automatic transmission too.

The prices are expected to start from Rs 9 lakh onwards, making it an alternative to compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. It will also be an alternative to MPVs like the Maruti Ertiga and XL6 as well as Kia Carens
