There are only a few cars that are capable of putting a smile on your face even when you are possibly having the worst days of your life, and the Aston Martin Vanquish is definitely one of them. Launched in India at Rs 8.85 crore (ex-showroom), the Vanquish is for those who have truly made it in life. It will be positioned as the flagship model in India, ready to put up a fight against the best from the likes of Lamborghini and Ferrari. 

So if you are one of those lucky ones who can afford the Vanquish or like me, are just one of those who likes to know about such beauties, here’s a detailed look at the new Vanquish: 

Design 

The Vanquish stays true to the core design philosophy, featuring a sleek and sculpted body which has a lovely road presence. It comes with a signature large grille that resonates with Astons and striking LED headlights that give it plenty of presence. The long bonnet gets plenty of cuts and creases for an aggressive look. 

The silhouette looks smooth and sporty with the sloping roofline which gives the beast an aerodynamic look. The rear looks as mean as it possibly could, with the right blend of aggressive and modern design bits. The quad exhaust tips further add to the sporty look and the tail lights’s design exudes a modern vibe. 

Interior And Features 

Step inside and you will be welcomed by a luxurious yet sporty cabin finished in high-quality materials. To add to the sporty theme, there is plenty of carbon fibre used across the dashboard and door pads. It features a sporty three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel which looks plush. The dashboard is dominated by a large 10.25-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and you also get plenty of physical buttons in the lower section of the centre console that aid easier usability. 

It also gets features such as a wireless phone charger, 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, a dual-zone climate control, a dual-zone climate control and powered and ventilated seats. 

Powertrain 

The jaw-dropping looks are matched by the masterpiece which lies under the hood - a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine! This engine is a powerhouse as it makes a whopping 835 PS and 1000 Nm of torque, allowing the car to max out at a top speed of 345 kmph. The unit is mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. It sprints from nought to the 100 kmph mark in just 3.3 seconds!  

The new Vanquish comes with an increased wheelbase for more stability and enhanced ride quality. The credit for its sharp handling and agility can be given to the Bilstein DTX dampers and electronic rear differential (e-diff). The grip and handling is further boosted by the special 21-inch Pirelli P ZERO tyres.
