Passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The Punch has also secured an impressive 5-star rating in the Global NCAP safety test, making it the safest mass-market car on sale in India right now.

Propelling the Punch is only an 86PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a standard 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT (limited to the ‘Adventure', ‘Accomplished’, and ‘Creative’ trims).

At these prices, the Tata Punch rubs shoulders with the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Swift, Mahindra KUV100 Nxt, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
