Tata has updated its Harrier and Safari’s colour options and ADAS kit
New colour options have been added to select variants
Lane Keep Assist added to the ADAS kit of both the SUVs
Other features and powertrain options remain unchanged
Tata has updated the colour options and the ADAS suite of the Harrier and Safari mid-size SUVs. The Indian carmaker has rearranged the list of colour options for both lower and higher-spec variants of the flagship SUVs. Apart from this, the Advanced Driver Assistance System or ADAS has also been updated with more features for enhanced safety.
For those of you who have recently purchased either of the two SUVs, we recommend you to visit your nearest Tata showroom and check if your vehicle can be updated or not with the latest ADAS tech. Since it's a software upgrade, your vehicle might be eligible for ADAS updates free of cost.
Here is a detailed look at the updates:
Tata has made more colour options of the Harrier and Safari available across a wider range of variants, giving the buyers an option to choose from more colour options for any particular variant.

So a few colours that were earlier available only with higher-spec variants can now be had with lower-spec variants as well and vice-versa.

Similar to the Harrier, the Safari Dark Edition is offered with three higher-spec trims.

The ADAS kit of the Safari and Harrier has become more capable with Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Steering Assist with Lane Centering. These features ensure that the SUV maintains its lane discipline and does not steer off in the neighboring lane when the driver is not paying full attention on the road.

The SUVs always had a button on the steering wheel for the Lane Keep Assist, but it wasn’t functional earlier due to the absence of the feature.

Some other ADAS features on board which were available since launch include Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
Both Harrier and Safari get the same 2-litre diesel engine which makes 170 PS and 350 Nm. The engine can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission options.

The Harrier is priced from Rs 14.99 lakh to Rs 25.89 lakh , while the Safari’s prices range from Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 26.79 lakh. The former competes with the Mahindra XUV700 5-seater variants, Jeep Compass, and MG Hector, while the latter rivals the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700 6/7-seater variants, and MG Hector Plus.
