Recounting on its sales performance in CY25, Mercedes-Benz today also announced updates to two of its luxury SUVs. The EQS SUV now gets some visual enhancements and a new feature as part of its ‘Celebration Edition’, which will make it a more attractive proposition for chauffeur-driven buyers.
On the other hand, the carmaker also announced that the Maybach GLS will now be assembled at its Pune plant, the result of which is a massive price cut! Here is all you need to know about the announcements today:
Mercedes-Benz has revealed that it delivered over 19,000 units in CY25, marking its best ever year in India in terms of revenue. It also said that 1 in every 4 cars of these were top-end vehicles costing upwards of Rs 1.25 crore (ex-showroom), while the AMG line-up also saw a strong 34% year-on-year growth, strengthening the brand’s wide range of performance-oriented products.
To keep this momentum going, the carmaker also announced that it will introduce 12 new products in CY26, which will include facelifts and some new products like the upcoming CLA Electric as well.

Less than two years from launch, Mercedes-Benz has given yet another update to the EQS SUV in the form of a ‘Celebration Edition’. With this edition, the base EQS SUV 450 variant now gets an AMG-line body kit outside, comprising 21-inch AMG alloy wheels with a gloss-black finish. Mercedes-Benz has now also added ventilated second-row seats for better comfort of rear occupants.
That’s not all, the top-end EQS SUV 580 ‘Celebration Edition’ now returns with a 7-seat layout after it was sold out shortly after launch. Just like the lower 450 configuration, this too gets ventilated second-row seats, which can be controlled via the MBUX entertainment screens.
Here is the price list for this new edition:
|
Variant |
Price (ex-showroom) |
|
EQS SUV 450 Celebration Edition (5-seater) |
Rs 1.34 Cr. |
|
EQS SUV 580 Celebration Edition (7-seater) |

Next, Mercedes-Benz also announced that the ultra-luxury Maybach GLS 600 will now be imported as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down unit) and assembled at its Pune plant, which makes India only the second market after the USA to get local production for this flagship product. Notably, this move has resulted in a massive Rs 41.5 lakh drop in its ex-showroom pricing due to lower import duties.

Besides this, Mercedes-Benz also launched a ‘Celebration Edition’ for the Maybach GLS with a luxurious configuration for the second row, including individual seats and a full-length centre console, along with a refrigerator and exclusive ‘Maybach’ branded champagne flutes with a dedicated compartment. It can also be opted for with a ‘dual-tone’ paint scheme and exclusive leather packs as well.
Here are the prices of the new Maybach GLS:
|

Price (ex-showroom) |

Maybach GLS 600 |

Celebrations are on at Mercedes-Benz India! It is no surprise that the carmaker is seeing best-ever figures given the wide range of products, especially in the ultra-luxury and performance segments. And now with the Maybach GLS starting local production, we are sure that it will become an even more tempting proposition for customers shopping in this segment, while also ensuring more allocations and faster deliveries.
