Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the Invicto premium MPV will be launched in India on July 05. The Invicto is nothing but a rebadged version of the Innova Hycross and is the first Toyota model to be rebadged as a Maruti Suzuki on our shores. It will be the most expensive Maruti car to go on sale in India.

Production of the Invicto is already underway and images have been leaked online, giving us a first sneak peek at its design changes. It will get a Grand Vitara-like grille, tweaked bumpers and dual-tone alloy wheels instead of monotone units found on the Hycross. To take a closer look at the Invicto, check out this report

The interior is yet to be snapped, but based on other Maruti and Toyota rebadged models, you can expect changes to be limited to just the colour scheme and upholstery. The Innova Hycross already having a grocery list-rivalling feature list means there will be a number of new kits seen for the first time in a Maruti car.

This includes ADAS, a powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, powered driver’s seat with memory settings and semi-powered captain seats with ottomans (for the captain row seats). Bits such as the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger and digital driver’s display will be carried forward.

Another bit that will be carried forward from the Hycross will be its engine options. It should get both the 176PS 2-litre petrol and 186PS 2-litre strong-hybrid powertrains, paired to a CVT and an e-CVT, respectively.

We have already driven the Innova Hycross, and to know our impressions, check out our first drive review. We suspect its pricing to range in the same ballpark as Innova Hycross, which ranges from Rs 18.55 lakh to Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It’ll be a more premium alternative to Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Innova Crysta.
