First Official Look At Citroen C3 Aircross: Shows Off Butch SUV highlights

The all-new Citroen C3 Aircross is set to make its global premiere tomorrow, on April 27, 2023. Although the carmaker has been largely secretive about its new SUV, Citroen has given us a first look at the C3 Aircross in a teaser. 

We admit that it’s a pretty distant look at the SUV, but zooming in, it’s possible to discern the front-end styling cues we recently saw in leaked images. At least at the front, the C3 Aircross’s aesthetic seems be inspired by the larger C5 Aircross SUV.

It has split headlights similar to the C3 hatchback that flank a prominent upper grille with trim elements that resemble the C5 Aircross. The curved bonnet and gaping lower grille give the SUV a butch, rugged appearance. The flying dirt helps, too. 

We also know that the C3 Aircross will get dual-tone alloy wheels with a four-split-spoke design. Other than that, it will be equipped with a digital driver’s display and a roof-mounted AC vent with fan speed settings for the rear passengers. It should also get the 10.2-inch touchscreen from the C3 hatch.

Under the bonnet, the C3 Aircross SUV should get the Puretech 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that’s also present in the C3 Turbo hatchback. The SUV is expected to get a higher state of tune (possibly 130PS) than the hatchback’s engine that makes 110PS. It’ll likely be paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, but an automatic transmission should be offered as well. 

The C3 Aircross will be a rival for compact SUVs such as the Maruti Grand Vitara and Volkswagen Taigun. The three-row SUV will also offer an alternative to the Kia Carens and Maruti XL6 people movers.
