Maruti Suzuki will announce the prices and detailed specifications of the facelifted XL6 on April 21. Official bookings have commenced for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Now, we have got our hands on the upcoming people mover’s variants and colour details.

Like before, the XL6 will continue to be offered in two trims: Zeta and Alpha. Both trims will be offered with manual and automatic transmissions, taking the total variant count to four.

And in terms of colours, the XL6 will get six options: Nexa Blue, Brave Khaki, Arctic White, Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey, and Splendid Silver. The coding for the last three colours are new, so we expect a minor difference in their finish.

The facelifted XL6 will get a minor cosmetic refresh in the form of a revised grille design, updated LED headlamps, and new dual-tone alloy wheels. Inside, it will feature the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that debuted in the Baleno. Maruti could also throw in additional features like a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and connected car tech (telematics only).

But the highlight will be the installation of Maruti’s new 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with Dual VVT (dubbed DualJet). The 5-speed manual will be retained, however, the automatic variants will now get a 6-speed torque converter with paddle shifters instead of the ancient 4-speed slushbox.

The updated XL6 will command a premium over the current model that is priced from Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, the automatic variants could carry a heftier premium as it gets a new transmission. The XL6 will renew its rivalry with the Mahindra Marazzo, Kia Carens, and the soon-to-be-launched facelifted Ertiga
